
To share a Mac’s printer with a Linux PC, open System Preferences on the Mac (found in the Apple menu, or in /Applications), and select “Sharing.” Under the Services tab, check the box for “Printer Sharing.” Under the Firewall tab, if the firewall is running, check the box next to “Printer Sharing” to open the appropriate port. Either the Mac or the Linux machine can physically host the printer.
